Lots Of Games Were Just Released For The Switch And More Big Titles To Come
With the upcoming release of Nintendo Labo on April 20, it's a big week for the Nintendo Switch . Labo is a new idea and direction for Nintendo, tapping into the versatility of the hybrid Switch console and the popularity of STEM-based "maker" education. Users build cardboard kits and interact with them in a variety of ways using the Switch. Labo promises to be a unique hands-on gaming experience, but the cardboard kits and games are designed primarily for kids and aren't likely to appeal to adults and hardcore gamers.
Fortunately, Nintendo isn't ignoring the folks that made Nintendo popular and continue to buy new games and consoles — there are plenty of great new games that have recently been released and more games to come.
When the Switch was first announced, there was a certain amount of skepticism about whether the combination of a home console and portable system would actually work. The verdict is in and it's a resounding success. However, it has excelled in a way that many people didn't expect. Nintendo consoles have always relied on their flagship games, but the Switch has become a favorite console to play indie titles. With the Switch, many of the games available for other consoles and PC are now completely portable. Some players aren't even purchasing the big, more expensive Nintendo flagship games and opting instead for the cheaper, downloadable indie titles from the Eshop.
Nintendo caught onto this shift and is adding new games to the Eshop quicker that we can download them and play them. Here are some of the best new recent releases:
