Epic Games Development Alumni Announce Upcoming Rhythmic Dungeon Crawler

There's a pretty good chance that you're familiar with Epic Games, the studio that brought us Fortnite, Gears of War, and the Unreal Engine directly responsible for high-fidelity experiences on PC, console, mobile, VR and AR platforms. It also speeds up the creation of games, applications, visualizations and cinematic content. You may not realize it, but it's quietly present in our current modern gaming experience. In short, Epic Games is a giant in the gaming industry and their technology is a vital part of much of the gaming and media we partake in. So, when former Epic developers and developers at Drastic Games announced an upcoming title, I was immediately curious.
The upcoming project, titled Soundfall , is described as a "music-driven action adventure", and is developed with Unreal Engine 4 by a small team of talented developers. Their goal is to combine music and gaming in a way that transcends the usual game/soundtrack experience. A soundtrack can certainly make or break a game, but Soundfall utilizes music and rhythm in a whole new way. “Soundfall is an extraordinary project to be part of,” said Julian Trutmann, content director, Drastic Games. “Music connects people in ways that are difficult to articulate. It’s been an incredible pleasure working with such an emotionally engaging medium.”
“Syncing literally everything in the game to music has been an awesome technical challenge,” added Nick Cooper, technical director, Drastic Games. “But it’s been a tremendously rewarding process, and we’re excited to finally share Soundfall with players.”

    From Drastic Games:
"A lively mix of twin-stick shooting and rhythm-based gameplay, Soundfall follows the journey of Melody, a young audiophile who finds herself transported to the world of Symphonia. In search of a way home from this mysterious land where music comes to life, she becomes entangled in a conflict to save the realm from Discord, an unfathomable darkness that threatens everything.
From Symphonia’s lush environments to its outlandish creatures, music drives every aspect of this rhythmic dungeon crawler. Become immersed in a world shaped by sound while delving into forbidden dungeons, exploring fantastic landscapes, and uncovering the hidden power of song.
Soundfall’s levels, enemies, loot, and more are procedurally-generated by and dynamically react to a range of musical elements, changing not only from song to song but measure to measure as tunes build and die away. Battles synchronize to the beat, rewarding players who dash and slash in time to the beat with impressive dance-like combos."

Players search the landscape for gear and loot that includes unique weapons and legendary artifacts, all with a musical aspect. There is a wide variety of playable characters, each with their own plan and musical style. Soundfall will offer compelling solo play but features multiple play modes — both couch co-op and online team play will be available.
All the various pieces appear to be coming together, so let's hope this game is as exciting, action-packed, and brilliant as it sounds. Soundfall will be playable at PAX West, EGX, and PAX Australia later this year. It's set to release for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2019.

Epic Speed-Runner, RAZED, Races On To Consoles In The Fall

PQube and developer Warpfish Games have announced the upcoming release of lightning-fast speed-runner RAZED on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam this September and October. The game was a finalist in Edge Magazine’s ‘Get Into Games’ competition and promises addicting speed-runner action that is challenging yet accessible. Development has focused not only on producing a game that is visually stunning but one that everyone will want to play — even if it's not their usual genre of choice.
“I can truly say, once you see RAZED in full flow, you can’t keep your eyes off it,” adds Amaria Larchet, Product Manager at PQube. “It’s the kind of game we can imagine people watching someone play over their shoulder thinking ‘well, that looks straightforward enough’, before taking it on for themselves and finding out things aren’t quite so easy. It really is a head turner.”
Perfectly balancing mechanics, visuals, and soundtrack is the goal of practically any game, but RAZED developers feel they have found the sweet spot with a game that is pleasing in those aspects and manages to be satisfyingly difficult and playable at the same time. “I think it’s a perfect marriage. Combined with the music it creates a kinetic environment focused on the concept of running as fast as you possibly can. Anyone can get the idea behind RAZED, but only the best will master the game. It really is a case of survival of the quickest.”

    About RAZED:
"RAZED is a game focused on speed, with the player charged with making it to the finish line in the quickest time possible, dancing and darting across dynamic levels littered with obstacles designed to take you down. Power boosting skills unlocked along the way can send you soaring - sometimes literally - with every second saved edging you closer to a triumphant run.
In short, RAZED’s rather manic mantra is go fast, or die trying."

RAZED isn't just about gameplay, however, its unique, bright visuals set it apart from other games in the genre. The uniquely-stylized graphics feel modern and retro at the same time. Let's just say that this game makes the neon-loving 80's kid in me very happy. “With RAZED, we’ve taken the spirit that fuelled some of the most popular speed-runners and fused it with some stunning, neon-charged visuals that tap into some of the best arcade games from the last few decades,” says John Thompson, Designer at Warpfish Games.
    Game features:
Non-stop escalation: Sprint through 60 dynamic levels spread across six unique worlds, each with a distinct visual style, unlockable abilities and pulse-pounding boss battles. Chart your own course: Veer off the beaten path and carve your own way through levels to achieve seemingly impossible times and unlock the S ranks. Online leaderboards and ghost data: Challenge the world via online leaderboards, and race against friends' ghosts in a game of asynchronous one-upmanship. Fuss-free speedrunning: Nobody wants to wait around while striving for perfection. Falling short of your target time? Simply jab the restart button to return to the start of the level without any loading times. Secret challenge levels: Employ all your different skills and abilities to find RAZED's toughest maps and tackle them head-on. Watch the trailer:

Salt And Sanctuary Comes To Switch TODAY! Special Edition Physical Version In October

Salt and Sanctuary, Ska Studios' brilliantly dark and brutal, stylized hand-drawn 2D platformer released today for the Nintendo Switch. A physical special edition from Leadman Games, titled Salt and Sanctuary: Drowned Tome Edition, is set to release exclusively to retailers later this year. The current version is available for digital download for $17.99.
“Together, we’ve crafted a dark world that both tests and rewards those daring enough to enter,” said Michelle and James Silva, co-creators at Ska Studios. “Welcome, Switch adventurers, to our ghoulish island, where mystery and death loom.” Michelle and James are a husband and wife team who beginning creating games as a hobby, which later became a business. Their mission is to focus on making great games, rather than profit. Ska Studios has grown into an award-winning indie studio known for stylistic, visceral, and brutally executed action titles like The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile, The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai, and Charlie Murder.

    About Salt and Sanctuary:
"After a confrontation with an eldritch beast from the dark depths of the sea slaughters a pirate crew, a lone survivor washes ashore. An old man proffers ominous riddles to this person, calling them the Saltborn. Seeking answers, the Saltborn arms themselves and sets out across an island haunted by all manner of undead monstrosities.
Create a character, customizing everything from physical appearance to weapon choice, and explore this forgotten land either alone or with another Saltborn via local co-op. Make a character build ranging from a measured, patient swordswoman who cuts only at opportune times to a wicked spellcaster that manipulates the elements to their advantage. Sixteen weapon types, more than fifty sets of armor that offer stats, abilities, and change appearance, and a massive skill tree offer the chance to survive Salt and Sanctuary in near-infinite ways.
The cruel, aberrant creatures that prowl these cursed lands stop at nothing to purge the Saltborn from their territories. Over twenty brutal bosses, from the jawless Queen of Smiles to the dreaded Witch of the Lake, eviscerate interlopers on sight. Cautious adventurers can best these challenges in tough-but-fair combat however they wish. Dodge, block, cleave, and scorch adversaries in hopes of revealing the horrifying secrets of the island and its drowned denizens.
Even after discovering the truth, sinister tribulations provide reasons to play Salt and Sanctuary multiple times. Difficult New Game+ and Challenge Modes including permadeath mean that masochists always have a thrilling trial ahead.”

Salt And Sanctuary is not only a visual achievement but a unique blend of 2D platform and classic RPG mechanics. A game with this type of aesthetic runs the risk of becoming cartoonish and losing its edge, but with the graphics are far from realistic, the overall tone never strays from its dark and bloody intentions. It's surprisingly deep, with tons of customization options, fully-developed worlds, and a perfectly executed combat system.
Salt and Sanctuary: Drowned Tome Edition will be available at retail stores on October 30 for $29.99 and is available for pre-order at select retailers today. The Drowned Tome edition will include:
Salt and Sanctuary for Nintendo Switch on a physical cartridge Download code for the original soundtrack on Bandcamp 2-sided poster, including hand-drawn map of the world of Salt and Sanctuary 20-page manual Watch the trailer for the current Salt and Sanctuary below:

Unique Puzzle Action Horror 'Bendy and the Ink Machine' Coming To Consoles

Rooster Teeth today announced it will publish Bendy and the Ink Machine  , its bizarre, cartoon-inspired puzzle horror will soon be available on all three major console systems — PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The episodic style game is coming in October and will feature the four original chapters, as well as the final never before available fifth chapter called The Last Reel. Rooster Teeth is partnering exclusively with GameStop to bring the game to retail for the first time. Fans can pre-order the game now at GameStop, both in stores and online, for $19.99 (PS4 and Xbox One) or $29.99 (Nintendo Switch).
“GameStop has always been committed to bringing exciting and creative content to more gamers across the globe,” said Eric Bright, Vice President of Merchandising at GameStop. “We are thrilled to partner with Rooster Teeth and TheMeatly to be the exclusive home of the limited-edition production disc of Bendy and the Ink Machine.”

    From Rooster Teeth:
Developed by TheMeatly Games, Bendy and the Ink Machine is an episodic first-person puzzle action horror game that begins in the far days past of animation and ends in a very dark future. Play as Henry as he revisits the demons of his past by exploring the abandoned animator's workshop of Joey Drew Studios. With twists and turns around every corner, Bendy and the Ink Machine is sure to thrill... and decimate any childhood memories.
“Bendy and the Ink Machine immediately hooks the player with its original, twisted storyline and haunting graphics,” said David Eddings, Head of Publishing at Rooster Teeth Games.  “TheMeatly Games has developed an incredibly unique and atmospheric experience and our partners at GameStop are offering gamers the opportunity to secure their chance to experience it on console for the very first time.”

Previously only available for PC via Steam, Bendy and the Ink Machine has somewhat of a cult following. The first chapter released in the Spring of 2017 and has gradually earned more fans with the release of each new chapter. You've probably even seen BITM merch popping up here and there, but you may have had no idea who that weird little black and white cartoon character with the toothy smile is. As it hits consoles, Bendy and the Ink Machine is likely to gain a whole new group of fans who haven't played the game previously.
It's known for being weird, fun, and quirky, without the gore and jump scares that are common in horror games. But, there's something nostalgic about creepy cartoons and such a huge portion of the gaming community loves to mix childhood memories with adult games and themes, so BITM definitely has a built-in audience. It has a surprisingly compelling storyline, interesting characters, and moderately challenging puzzles — all in a package that doesn't require hundreds of hours to complete. And soon, it will be more accessible than ever.
Have you played Bendy and the Ink Machine? Will you play it on a console? Let us know — we'd love to hear from you!

Control A Zombie Horde! Horde: Zombie Outbreak Shambles Into Early Access On July 30th

I love playing zombie games. Thanks to a zombie obsessed pop culture phenomenon, the last few years have brought us some of the best in zombie games, television, and movies. Though that trend appears to be waning slightly, I hope that there's plenty more awesome zombie content to come. Like many gamers, I can't get enough of hacking and slashing my way through a horde of zombies or taking them out by any means necessary. In fact, zombie mode and hitting zombies with a shovel is pretty much the only reason I play Call of Duty these days.
Given the vast number of zombie games on the market, surprisingly few allow you to have any control over the zombies — you're either killing zombies or at the very least, attempting to survive in a post-apocalyptic zombie wasteland. Horde: Zombie Outbreak seeks to break that trend and allow players to control their very own horde, with the ultimate goal of infecting humans and conquering the world.

    From Madowl Games:
"Ever wanted to control a bloodthirsty horde of zombies and wreak havoc on cities around the world? Well, now you can! In Horde: Zombie Outbreak the player assumes the role of the zombies and must overthrow the world by infecting the humans! Each person you infect will become part of your horde. As your horde grows stronger so does the human resistance, the player must use abilities that are linked to certain zombie types to help them fight through the police, swat, and an army!
Your infecting journey will start small, but quicker than you can say “brains!” your horde will be a terrifying un-dead force! Most humans will flee, some will fight and some will even ram their cars through your precious zombies! Almost everything can be destroyed, smash peoples homes, total their vehicles and rip apart their favorite hot spots from the inside out."

On July 30th, Horde: Zombie Outbreak is coming to Early Access on Steam. Like any Early Access game, content will be limited as developers create, update, and squash bugs. But, you do get the chance to play the game in the very beginning and offer your feedback to the developers. In addition, for the first week of Early Access, the regular price of $10.99 is discounted 40%.
Upon release, there will be two main game modes:
Conquest - Fight against time and the resistance through increasingly difficult zones, complete all the objectives and finally destroy the city landmarks! Play tactically to avoid the resistance wiping out your precious zombies, use abilities to stay hidden and destroy buildings and cars to increase your time! Unlock new cities to infect by completing conquest in other countries. First stop London. Next up Moscow.
Endless - How long can you and your zombies last in an Endless city rampage? No time limits just pure destruction! Compete on the leaderboards against your friends and the rest of the world for zombie horde glory! Choose your favorite zombie and the abilities that suit your style of play.
New content will be added after the initial release including unleashing your horde in other cities around the world, more zombies with new and different abilities to expand the ways and strategies in which players can control and use their zombies, and new game modes that could include co-op play and even a map editor.

Remnant: From the Ashes will deliver a unique, dynamic world that provides an infinite number of ways to explore and combat enemies. We know players will love our twist on the survival-action genre.”
“Remnant: From the Ashes is about working together to build something bigger than yourself, and that idea is core to our approach to the game,” said David Adams, co-founder of Gunfire Games.“ Perfect World Entertainment has been supportive of our pursuit to develop a game with a robust co-op experience. The company’s live service knowledge coupled with our signature gameplay and world-building, enables us to develop an immersive world that we hope players will enjoy solo or together, for years to come.”

    From Perfect World Entertainment:
"Remnant: From the Ashes is a third-person survival-action game set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by mythical creatures. Players build characters to suit their individual playstyle and survive the perils of diverse and deadly environments, alone or alongside a team of up to three other players. The game offers unique, customizable gameplay experience filled with intense shooting, melee combat, gear and weapon crafting, character progression, deadly enemies, epic bosses and dynamically-generated levels that offer an infinite number of ways to explore."
An ambitious project with lofty visual and gameplay goals, Remnant: From the Ashes will feature a variety of worlds, each with new challenges. Flexibility is key, as each dynamically-created world will require ingenuity to develop an effective strategy for that particular landscape. Experience gained in one world will help to provide the necessary skills to conquer the next. Players will encounter dozens of monsters in each world, specific to their unique and challenging environments.

In the bleak and frightening landscape, making friends may be the only chance for survival. Skilled tradesman will play an integral part of the game and will appreciate the protection of a player's base. They are a part of the crafting system, offering skills, resources, weapons, and upgrades in trade for their safety. Tradesmen are not the only other humans encountered in the game and players are encouraged to team up with up to three other players, dramatically increasing their power through strength in numbers and boosting the chances of overall success. Co-op is likely to play a large part in this particular game. When choosing characters and teammates, analyzing the available character and hero archetypes is a must. Choosing heroes that have complementing strengths will be the best for team development as a whole.
Remnant: From the Ashes will make its public debut with fully playable hands-on demos at Gamescom, August 21 – 25, 2018.
There's no release date yet, but there is a trailer:

HOLY POTATOES! A WEAPON SHOP?! Available For Switch And PS4

Have you ever played a questing hero in a game, stopped through a weapons shop or blacksmith on your way to slay some dragons or other enemies and wondered what it would be like to play as the blacksmith? I know, me neither. But someone has, and Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! is a way to live out that dream in an entertaining and quirky game.
A wacky game with a wacky name, Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! has been available on Steam for a couple years, but has just recently made its way onto the Nintendo Switch and PS4 consoles as a digital download. If you're a fan of management sims and already have your favorites, A Weapon Shop is still a great addition to your library. Games like this tend to be time sucks, where all of a sudden you've put 100 hours into a game you're not even sure you like it yet, so they have to provide something appealing to keep players coming back. Something must be going right for this particular game to have expanded its reach beyond the PC market.
Perhaps it's the quirky characters, the entertaining storyline, or the award-winning soundtrack. Or, the fact that you can adopt your very own potato dog. Whatever the reason, players will enjoy the relatively simple mechanics and gameplay — this isn't a management sim that gets overwhelmingly difficult and tedious as time goes by. Develop an individual system for your shop and keep forging weapons for the questing heroes.

    From Rising Star Games:
"Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! is a management and simulation game where players own and manage their very own weapon shop, and work toward expanding their business throughout the entire potato universe."
Bonus Adventure: Includes the bonus adventure Spud Tales: Journey To Olympus Manage Your Shop: Dive into a hilarious potato world and take control of your own weapon shop, employing over 30 smiths to cook up the best weapons you can Weapons: Craft hundreds of unique weapons, training up your smiths to make better swords, axes, and bows that'll bring in bigger wedges of cash Weapon-Smithing: Explore the world for materials, relics, and enchantments, then use them to research and build valuable weapon types Icons: Meet over 20 spudified versions of legendary pop-culture icons! Soundtrack: Features music by Kimura Masahiko, the legendary composer behind the scores for the Genso Suikoden and Castlevania series
Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop is the first in the charming and amusing Holy Potatoes! series of games that also includes Holy Potatoes! What The Hell?! and Holy Potatoes! We're in Space?!. A hell-themed cooking management sim and a space exploration and management sim respectively, the Holy Potatoes! games make management sims fun with delightful colorful, cartoony characters and delightful storylines. Determined not to take themselves too seriously, they are just challenging enough, without the frustration that comes along with more difficult or realistic sims.

The first game in the Darksiders series released in January of 2010 and was inspired by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Players control the "War" Horseman and used various handheld weapons to defeat his adversaries, with a revolver and a boomerang appearing later in the game. War is a member of "The Charred Council", which is essentially The Four Horseman, tasked with the difficult feat of brokering the end of the long, bloody war between the kingdoms of Heaven and Hell. When humanity appears on Earth, things become more complicated for the Kingdoms and The Charred Council, and a series of events finds War on present-day Earth, enmeshed in a fierce quest to gain revenge for a stark betrayal.
Darksiders III is set to continue this epic series with new characters, a new story, and all of the upgrades that modern gaming has to offer.

Monster Hunter: World Is Coming To PC This August

Monster Hunter fans rejoice! Earlier this year, Capcom announced that the latest game in the Monster Hunter universe would be coming to PC via Steam in the Fall of 2018. However, they recently revealed that the game would be released early, on August 9th.
Monster Hunter: World originally released on January 26, 2018, to much fanfare, and in the following months, set itself apart as the best selling game in Capcom's history, which is an impressive feat. The modern take on the Monster Hunter franchise sold over 8 million copies throughout the world, and the PC release is set to increase that number.
In this entry, players take on larger than life monsters in a variety of vast, living, breathing ecosystems either solo or with up to three other hunters via online co-op, complete with drop-in functionality, a first for the series.

    From Capcom:
"In Monster Hunter: World, follow the journey of the elder dragons as they begin their once a decade migration across the sea to a land known as the New World in an event referred to by inhabitants as the Elder Crossing. As part of the Guild’s Research Commission, players must embark on a grand journey to this massive, mysterious land and uncover the secrets behind this phenomenon. As hunters set out on their quests, the Commission’s sights are set on Zorah Magdaros, a colossal elder dragon that rises from the earth like a volcano."
The Monster Hunter: World PC edition is currently available for pre-order on Steam . The PC game will contain the original release, and updates and improvements that have been made to other versions of the game will be gradually applied to the PC version. Players who grab the game before the release will receive some pretty cool pre-order bonus content:
    Origin Set
The Origin Set armor is a nostalgic must-have for series fans. This full armor set (head, chest, arms, waist, and legs) comes with enough defense to carry you through the early quests, and also features plenty of skills useful for gathering.
    Fair Wind Charm
The Fair Wind charm carries a skill that increases your attack power, and one that adds a chance of reducing the damage you take. The charm also has a nice visual impact, as equipping it will add a glowing aura effect to your left arm!

Unfortunately, despite this big release and the excitement surrounding it, Nintendo Switch players are disappointed that there are no plans to bring Monster Hunter: World to the popular hybrid console. However, there is a consolation prize in the form of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, the follow-up to Monster Hunter Generations. Generation and Generations Ultimate are considered "classic" Monster Hunter games, marketed towards long-time fans of the game with an understanding of the game, play style, and lore. This is a direct contrast to Monster Hunter: World, which turned the franchise on its head with much more modern gaming and seamless multiplayer features, bringing in a whole new legion of fans who may or may not have played any of the previous games.

Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard Is Available On All Major Platforms

On July 10, Outright Games released Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard, based on Sony Pictures Animation’s film Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation. The new game is now available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It's a lighthearted family game, perfect for families and kids of all ages, especially fans of the popular Hotel Transylvania movie and game franchise.
“We are pleased to release Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard today and think fans will love continuing the story of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, which hits theaters this week as well,” says Terry Malham, CEO of Outright Games. “This new game is a great way to keep the summer fun going all year long.”

Unlike many games that release in conjunction with or following a movie, Monsters Overboard doesn't follow the story of the movie, though it can be seen as a follow-up and continuation of the main story. But, like Summer Vacation, it's a "fish out of water" tale for the Hotel Transylvania cast. When a huge, mysterious storm strikes, Dracula, Mavis, and the rest are washed up the Lost Islands. Like the name, if you're trapped there then you're, well, lost . The Islands are populated with strange, but loveable creatures called Impa, who aren't there to hurt you, but rather, are willing to help!
Players must form a team of Impas and accompany them on dangerous missions to save missing monsters Frankenstein, Murray the mummy, and Wayne the werewolf. Along the way, discover new Impa varieties like Frankenimpa, Wolfimpa, and more. You'll need their help and skills to fight frightening enemies, discover hidden treasure, and hopefully save the day. Suitable for children that are fans of the Hotel Transylvania franchise, Monsters Overboard isn't likely to be particularly challenging or gritty. But, backed by a first-class game studio and of course, Sony Pictures Entertainment, it's sure to be a fun, entertaining, and well-produced game.
"Hotel Transylvania 3: Monsters Overboard is the perfect companion to Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation,” says Jamie Stevens, EVP Worldwide Consumer Products at Sony Pictures Entertainment. “We are excited for fans to dive into a new monster adventure, explore Drac’s extraordinary world and make new friends along the way!”

    From Outright Games:
    Have fun with Drac’s Pack
Enter the spooky fun world of Hotel Transylvania and meet all your favorite Frankenhomies from Johnny, Frank and Dennis, to sea captain Ericka from the new film. With stunning visuals and humor faithful to the franchise, you’ll laugh your way through your very own monster adventure.
Meet a lovable new team of friends
The Impa are at your command! These curious little creatures will follow where you lead and do what you ask. And when you combine the abilities of the bat-like Vampa, digging Wolfimpa, super-strong Frankenimpa and others, you can solve the toughest puzzles and beat fearsome enemies.
    There’s more to explore
Perfect your Impa strategies and go deeper into the mysterious Lost Islands to discover hidden treasures, secret boss battles and new shortcuts. The ghoulish fun doesn’t stop!

Announcement: 'Rowdy' Ronda Rousey Is Coming to WWE 2K19

2K announced today that the upcoming WWE 2K19 wrestling game will include none other than Olympic medalist, feature film actress, UFC® Hall of Famer, and current WWE® Superstar, “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey®. Ronda has shocked wrestling fans as of late with a surprise Royal Rumble® 2018 appearance and blockbuster WrestleMania® 34 debut match, so it makes sense that one of the most recognizable women in the WWE universe is included in their upcoming flagship game.
“From an Olympic tatami to the UFC Octagon to the WWE ring, Ronda is a one-of-a-kind athlete and incredible ambassador for career and life empowerment,” said Chris Snyder, Vice President of Marketing at 2K. “Her discipline, determination, and attitude toward accomplishing her goals and silencing her critics make her the perfect embodiment of WWE 2K19’s ‘Never Say Never’ global marketing campaign. We are thrilled to welcome Ronda to the WWE 2K family and can’t wait to see what’s in store for her in the years to come.”

Ronda Rousey is not the first person in the WWE ring to carry the "Rowdy" name, which comes with a long history. Rowdy Roddy Piper is one of the most famous names in wrestling history and Ronda takes to the ring in Roddy Piper inspired signature gear, in real life and in the game. She's proud of her connection to the "Rowdy" legacy:
“As a WWE Superstar, having support from the Piper family means everything to me,” said Ronda Rousey. “It’s an honor to be part of WWE 2K19 and have my name mentioned alongside so many important Superstars in WWE history, including Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle®, Ultimate Warrior®, Sting™ and Goldberg™.”
It seems that the Piper family is happy to have Ronda in their ranks, as well:
“Anybody can call themselves ‘Rowdy’, but it takes a special, talented and dedicated individual to live up to the ‘Rowdy’ name,” said Colt Toombs, son of “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. “My dad saw it in Ronda, and so do we. She is truly ‘Rowdy to the core,’ and that mindset really comes through in the trailer for WWE 2K19.”

Rousey and former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio will be available as bonus content for players that pre-order the game at participating retailers. WWE 2K19 is currently scheduled for worldwide release on October 9, 2018, with Early Access players receiving their copies and in-game bonuses beginning four days early on October 5, 2018. WWE 2K19 will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
The WWE 2K19 Deluxe Edition includes Early Access, Season Pass digital content, and pre-order bonus digital content (playable Rey Mysterio “Royal Rumble 2018” character and playable Ronda Rousey “WrestleMania 34/Roddy Piper-inspired” character). The Collector's Edition includes Deluxe Edition content plus premium packaging, exclusive physical collectibles, and Limited Edition WWE SuperCard content.
Last night's WWE Monday Night Raw featured 2K’s global pre-order trailer for WWE 2K19, marking Ronda's impressive entrance and rise in the WWE, with the popular video game being a major development in her career.

This Land is My Land - Upcoming Red Dead Redemption-like Wild West Game but From a Different Perspective

In most of the Wild West-themed movies, shows and games out there, the Native Americans are being portrayed as the main antagonists and troublemakers against whom, the hero protagonist – usually a gun slinging cowboy, a brave US Marshal or a trigger-happy Sheriff need to go up against. Rarely was there ever a genuine opportunity for us to see the other side of the coin, and experience what it was like being a Native American and dealing with all the hardships that came with the arrival of the new settlers and rapid industrialization of their native lands.
This gap in the genre was recognized by the Game Labs, the creators of the widely successful Ultimate General series, who began working on a game where players will be put in the shoes of a Native American tribesman in his fight against the Westerners. The working title of the game is This Land is My Land, a name which is meant as a pun to the famous 1940’s folk song This Land is Your Land by Woody Guthrie, a song that talks about American lands which range “from California to New York Island”.
This Land is My Land will be an open world game with combat focusing on stealth rather than on gun-blazing action. This is of no surprise as Native Americans were, in the beginning of the conflict, heavily underpowered in terms of modern weaponry and had to rely on their traditional armament such as the legendary Tomahawks, bows, arrows and atlatls in order to fend off the incoming Westerners. Besides in combat, stealth will also be used for completing objectives as developers stated that every mission will have multiple approaches, so it will be up to players to decide if they want to be violent or non-violent in their playthrough.

Stealth will be an important part of the gameplay.
The approach the players take will also have an effect on enemy AI as well as the world around them. Namely, developers said that the game mechanics ''will treat you [the player] as an intelligent adult who can make smart decisions to overcome our cooperative AI, that intelligently reacts to threats and changing surroundings'' meaning that the game world will be hostile from the very beginning and in-game characters will adapt in response to our actions. On top of that, every time we restart the game the world is going to change, with cities expanding and shrinking, camps being moved around and patrols taking different routes making every playthrough unique. Judging by the released screenshots, players will also get to traverse the vast open terrains of the American Mid-West by riding horses, which will without a doubt be an enjoyable experience with all the picturesque forests and mountains laying about.

Scenery in This Land is My Land looks wonderful!
As of right now, there is unfortunately no more information available on This Land is My Land. Game Labs still hasn’t given an estimated release date, nor any gameplay videos, however the screenshots posted so far all look incredible, with wonderful scenery and very detailed characters, as such i am very eager to see what will the developers further come up with, and I sincerely hope that we will get more info on this wonderful game soon.
You can view the additional screenshots on the This Land is My Land official website.

The Quiet Man Trailer Was Weird, but The Enigmatic Letter From The Developer is Even Weirder

During the E3 conference, Square Enix, the publisher and developer of some of the famous game franchises such as the Final Fantasy, the Tomb Raider and the Hitman, showcased a trailer for their upcoming game titled The Quite Man. The trailer immediately attracted lots of attention as it was an interesting mix of both live-actions shots, as well as in-game footage. On top of that, the trailer was also rather weird as it featured a guy confronting some fellas who were just sitting in an alley, casually drinking and telling him to get lost as they didn’t want the ''chow'' he was carrying in a paper bag. From there, things got more confusing as the dude just goes crazy and beats up all of them, and even ends up putting the said paper bag on one of the guy’s faces while he is just lying on the ground unconscious. Nothing more was said after the trailer was released, except that more info on the game will be available in August, so naturally, people started speculating as to what was the trailer actually about.
My initial theory was that we will get to assume the role of a disgruntled food delivery guy who had to go out in the middle of a night in an attempt to make a delivery, only to discover that he has been pranked called, so in order to vent his anger, he goes ballistic on the three drunks who gave him a dirty look and refused his undelivered food. Despite the awesomeness of my theory, it turns out that the story is much deeper than that, as the latest letter from the producer, which you can read below, confirms it.
And for those with bad vision, such as myself, here is a typed out version:
““Words” are truly amazing. They possess the power even to change the world. This is undeniable. For me personally, words are as precious as they are valuable. That said, I believe we as humans are capable of connections that transcend words—for example, an infant need only to look into his mother’s eyes to know he is safe and loved. And in a world that overflows with cascades of words taken for granted, I can’t help but think it’s often difficult to realize such connections exist.
Words shape consciousness; indeed, some even say that “words are life.” But what if we were to cast aside such a life? What if somehow, we were able to understand one another through connections formed heart to heart, soul to soul, and could once again look into one another’s eyes and form a bond so pure? This concept lies at the core of The Quiet Man. Feelings that remain after words are abandoned, feelings that can be conveyed even without words—aren’t these the feelings that are truly important in this life?"
Yes, so I guess my theory about the angry delivery driver holds no merit, but nevertheless this letter made me rewatch the original trailer more carefully and notice some things that I’ve missed the first time around. Namely, at 0:29 of the video, just as the hobos refuse the guy’s chow, we can see him pointing at his ear and gesticulating that he doesn’t hear them, implying that he is deaf or maybe even mute, meaning that he is probably the Quiet Man. Also, at 0:42, just prior to the confrontation and the trailers' transition from live-action to CGI, we can see a man lying on the ground behind the Quite Man, which can possibly mean that that man was attacked by the three drunk guys and that Quite Man is simply avenging him.
Although this does shine a bit more light on the game, there are still many unanswered questions making this the most enigmatic trailer of the E3, after Kojima’s Death Stranding of course. Nevertheless, the trailer does look promising and with the producer’s letter out, it is safe to assume that there will be some philosophical or pseudoscience background to the story which makes everything that more interesting. My only worry as of right now is that mixing of live-action sequences does not turn The Quite Man into an atrocity such as The Quantum Break which, for those unfamiliar with the latter, forces players to watch 15 minute live-action videos in between levels in order to prolong the storyline. Lastly, we just have to wait until August to get more information on The Quite Man, but until then we can all enjoy the trailer and read up on theories and speculations about the it and the game which arise almost daily.
